Put Your Hair Into Gothic (Harajuku)Pigtails

The perfect Gothic (Harajuku) Pigtails may seem hard but with these simple steps you'll have crazy Harajuku Pigtails in no time. Harajuku style is a popular Japanese trend and gothic style is a popular trend in England (amongst teens) so imagine both blended in...

STEPS

Comb all knots and tangles out of the hair . If hair is knotted it can be
almost impossible to style. Use a hairbrush and start gently brushing the
bottom of the hair working your way to the top of the hair until the hair is
free of knots and tangles.
Straighten hair . Straight hair is easier to style and adds a gothic effect
because goths traditionally don' t have frizzy or curly hair.
Customise hair. If possible dye the hair to an unnatural hair colour such
as bleach blonde, purple, red or any colour that no one is born with. I
would recommend washable hair dye unless you want to keep the hair
colour until it grows out. You can also dye the hair black or a closely dark
colour to this. If you dye the hair black be sure to wear brightly coloured
hair extentions in the hair or highlight bright colours into it, to help add to
the Harajuku effect. If you cannot dye your hair just wear brightly
coloured extentions.
Part the hair . Separate the hair into two sections. A side parting would
be great as it adds to the gothic effect but don't part the hair too far to
the side.
Tie the hair into high pigtails . The higher the better as this makes the
pigtails look crazy and harajuku style. Tie the hair tightly but use cotton
hair ties because it won't pull on your hair or hurt when you take it out.
Back comb certain parts of the pigtails . Back combing gives the
pigtails more volume to create the harajuku look. It also allows the hair to
look more interesting.
